The 27-year-old had been out injured since November but marked his return in incredible fashion with his first career goal
Augsburg had goalkeeper Marwin Hitz to thank for their 2-2 draw with Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday after he scored a dramatic 94th-minute equaliser.
Hitz had been out of action since mid-November with a serious knee injury and was at fault early in the game when he fumbled an effort from Josip Drmic, which the striker converted on the rebound.
Substitute Caiuby equalised after the break before Leverkusen looked to have won it when Stefan Reinartz grabbed their second with six minutes left.
But the keeper made amends for his earlier error when he ventured forward with the game deep into stoppage time and his side 2-1 down, as he turned the ball home after a ricochet off Simon Rolfes had fallen into his path.
The result means Augsburg and Leverkusen stayed fifth and sixth in the Bundesliga respectively.
