Schalke - Real Madrid Betting: Cristiano Ronaldo may be the favourite to score but the value lies with Benzema
The Frenchman has an excellent scoring record in the Champions League and is in fine form, making the price of 5/6 for him to find the back of the net too good to turn down
Real Madrid enjoyed their trip to the Veltins Arena at the same stage of the competition last season as Carlo Ancelotti's men recorded an historic 6-1 win over Schalke. A repeat of that scoreline is offered at 66/1 (67.0)by bet365.

With the Germans having leaked more goals than anyone else left in the competition this season and Madrid being the only side to boast a 100% record, backing goals once more for the visitors seems to be the logical conclusion.

In last season's encounter, Madrid's fabled forward trident of the BBC (Bale, Benzema, Cristiano) each scored twice in a display of brutal attacking efficiency and the bookmakers are taking few chances on Madrid's main man firing again.

Tonight's game sees Cristiano Ronaldo as the favourite to open the scoring at 12/5 (3.40) with bet365, while he is offered at just 8/15 (1.53) to find the back of the net at anytime and at 21/10 (3.10) to score two or more. The Portugal international is on a run of three games without a goal but will certainly expect to change that run against a team that leaked an eye-watering 14 goals in the group stages.

The Ballon d'Or winner has scored 57 goals in 57 Champions League games for Real Madrid and will be looking to add to his tally of five goals in the tournament so far this season, a total that leaves his four behind Luiz Adriano and trailing Lionel Messi by three

Also on five goals is Karim Benzema, who is offered at a tempting 5/6 (1.83) to score at anytime. The France international has scored in four of Madrid's last six Champions League games and boasts a superb record in the competition for Los Blancos, not quite as prolific as Ronaldo but still hugely impressive having netted 41 times in 69 games and his price of 5/6 (1.83) is big enough to consider investing in.

Benzema has more experience at this level than Gareth Bale who is offered at 10/11 (1.91) to find the back of the net, and Madrid's number nine is in excellent form, having found the net four times in his last five appearances.

Madrid are well fancied to get amongst the goals tonight and the price for Benzema to get himself on the scoresheet is big enough for serious consideration.
