The Liverpool forward was given an injection for a toe injury after England's 4-0 defeat of Lithuania and now hopes to be ready to face the Gunners on Saturday
Liverpool's Raheem Sterling has declared that he should be fit to play in the Reds' vital Premier League clash with Arsenal next Saturday after receiving an injection in his toe.
The 20-year-old scored his first ever senior international goal for England as Roy Hodgson's men recorded a comfortable 4-0 victory over Lithuania on Friday, but has since withdrawn from the camp due to a niggling injury.
Sterling will play no part in England's friendly with Italy in Turin on Tuesday and has instead returned to his club to undergo treatment by Liverpool's medical staff.
And the youngster is confident that he will be able to play against the Gunners at the Emirates next weekend.
"It had been pre-agreed with the FA and obviously my club to get an injection after the game," he said. "I will receive some treatment back at the club and go from there."
When asked whether or not he would be fit for the trip to Arsenal, Sterling said: "Hopefully, yeah.
"I will get this injection now and see how it goes in the next few days. Hopefully I will be okay for the Arsenal game."
