Luis Enrique: Barcelona in perfect shape for the Clasico

Luis Enrique: Barcelona in perfect shape for the Clasico

Two more goals from Lionel Messi handed the Catalans three points against Eibar ahead of a pivotal week in their season

Luis Enrique believes Barcelona are "in perfect shape" ahead of their Champions League clash with Manchester City and the Clasico against Real Madrid.
The Catalans stretched their lead at the top of La Liga temporarily at least to four points after a 2-0 win over Eibar, courtesy of a double from Lionel Messi.
Barca face Premier League champions City in the second leg of the Champions League last 16 in midweek before taking on Madrid on Sunday and their coach is confident they are primed for a huge week in their season.
"We arrive as leaders and in perfect shape [for the Clasico]," he told a press conference after Saturday's match. "I don't think this is going to be the most important week, but it will be fairly important.
"The match against City is against an opponent who can make things difficult and that's the match to think about right now.
"From the outside, everything looks easy, but get onto the pitch and you'll see how fast the ball moves. At times we accelerated and attacked from the centre. We played a good game."
Sergi Roberto was handed a rare start against Eibar and Luis Enrique was pleased with the young midfielder's display.
"He has played a great match, most of all because he hasn't had many minutes," he added. "He gives us a lot and he is good in the air, he defends. I know him from the youth team, it's a shame I can't give him more minutes but he's an important player for the team."
