Marcelo: It feels like my first Brazil call-up

The full-back was drafted back into the squad by Dunga for the Chevrolet Brasil Global Tour friendlies with Chile and France and is desperate to make an impression

Real Madrid defender Marcelo says he was so overjoyed to return to the Brazil squad that when he arrived in Paris this week it felt like was joining the Selecao for the first time.
The 26-year-old defender arrived joined the squad at L'Hotel du Collectionneur on Monday after representing his club in their 2-1 Clasico defeat to Barcelona on Sunday.
He sat out of most of the first day’s training in the French capital but was in joyous mood during the customary warm-up and couldn’t hide his delight when asked how he feels to be back in the squad after missing out on the squad in November.
"I'm so happy to be here. This call-up is like the first of my career,” he told the press.
“The Brazilian national team will always be special in the career of every player. Only those who make it by here can imagine what it feels like to see your name in the squad.
Marcelo is hoping to impress this week in order to force out current first choice left-back Filipe Luis, who is starting less matches than he would have hoped for his club Chelsea in England’s Premier League.
And he went on to say how eager he is to make the most of his opportunity.
"The Brazilian team is made up of great players who are also great friends. Here the environment is one of great professionalism, in which everyone can feel comfortable and battle respectfully for a place in the side.

“I just want to train very hard in order to keep my place in the squad. The most important thing is being here."
