Schneiderlin slams Cesc: Fabregas is a wind-up merchant

The France midfielder was sent-off earlier this season against Chelsea and claims the Spaniard made him so angry he had no choice but to react in a negative way

Morgan Schneiderlin has branded Cesc Fabregas a wind-up merchant after the Chelsea midfielder provoked the Frenchman into getting sent off earlier this season.

The Southampton powerhouse has been the driving force behind his side’s impressive form this term and has been rewarded with a regular place in Didier Deschamps’ French national squad.

The one black mark against Schneiderlin’s name this season came in the draw against Chelsea over the festive period when he was red carded after losing patience with Fabregas, who he claims made him so angry he couldn’t help but react.

He told L'Equipe: "Once this year against Chelsea. I was angry with Cesc Fabregas because he wouldn't stop talking, putting in small hits.

“It made me lose my composure and, in a move, I forgot that I already had a warning."

Schneiderlin is part of the France squad which will face Brazil on Wednesday night in Paris. Deschamps' side are unbeaten since they lost their World Cup quarter final against Germany and have won four of their last six games.
